Wizzy

We designed a friendly, transparent investing experience that helped users explore confidently and without friction.

Challenge

Wizzy is a text-to-video AI editor that lets users generate, edit, and refine videos through a chatbot. The desktop version provides a powerful multi-panel editing layout, but its complexity and density could not be directly translated to mobile.

My challenge was to redesign the main editing experience for mobile in a way that preserved core functionality while reducing cognitive load, improving clarity, and maintaining alignment with the desktop version.

Process

To understand how to structure the mobile experience, I analyzed the existing desktop interface, performed a competitor review across 5 video-generation and editing tools, mapped the current information architecture. This helped me identify which features had to be preserved and how to break the workflow into manageable, low-overload mobile screens.

Site Map

I broke down the desktop editor into its core functional groups:

  • Video preview (video + subtitles + controls)

  • Chatbox-based content editing

  • Script panel with scene, audio, and descriptive elements

  • Audio editor visual timeline

  • Supporting settings (file, language)

This mapping highlighted which components could coexist on mobile and which needed to be separated to avoid overload.

Impact

I validated design decisions through internal usability walkthroughs, wireframe testing sessions, and heuristic evaluation focused on alignment, information grouping, and interaction clarity.
